I did the security test at » /scan and the incoming traffic from ( IP address 216.254.95.40) and with out DMZ enabled was not seen in the log at » 192.168.1.1/Log_incoming.asp. I was not talking about sending the log to any computer or broadcasting the message to all ip address in the range of 192.168.1.0 to 192.168.1.254.

Static IP can be assigned on the PC or some firmwares - like DD-WRT - allow you to 'reserve' an IP address for a PC - for example, when the PC with MAC address 1:2:3:4:5:6 requests a DHCP address, it always recevies 192.168.1.99 If you use DHCP, the PC may have a different IP everytime it comes up. One note, it helps to assign a static IP to the PC that will receive the logs. I also included a screen shot of wall watcher. You do however need one of the third party firmwares to get syslog support. There is no reason to have to enable a DMZ to get logging on the WRT54G. Also this should be possible w/o third party firmware. But why do I have to enable DMZ, that sucks, for? They should make firmware that should log traffic w/o enabling DMZ.
